24x7 Remote Automation Server for UNIX and Linux can be installed on the following platforms:

- Sun Solaris 32-bit (sparc32 and sparc64) version 5.6 and later
- Digital UNIX 64-bit version 4.0B and later, including Tru64 UNIX
- FreeBSD (i386 and Alpha) version 3.1 and later
- IBM AIX version 4.1 and later
- Mac OS X and later
- other UNIX systems running Java version 1.4 and later
On Windows 95/98/Me, 24x7 Schedulers and 24x7 Remote Agents can be setup to run as standalone Windows applications or as Windows 9x service applets that run invisible and can start before a user is logged on.
On Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7, 24x7 Schedulers and 24x7 Remote Agents can be setup to run as standalone Windows applications or as Windows NT services.
24x7 Remote Automation Servers for UNIX and Linux run as TCP daemon processes. 24x7 Schedulers and 24x7 Remote Agents running on Windows platforms use 24x7 RA Client to transparently access UNIX and Linux processes and files as if they were local processes and files.
A minimal installation of core components on a Windows computer requires 18 MB of free disk space. A full installation of all components requires approximately 36 MB of free disk space.
24x7 Remote Automation Server for UNIX/Linux requires approximately 150 KB of free disk space for native version and 5.5 MB for Java version (not including JDK 1.4).
